Tekeli Pitha

Ingredients for making Tekeli Pitha
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 green chili
  • ½ tsp salt
How to make Tekeli Pitha
  • Add salt to rice flour and sprinkle some water over the flour, mix well till fine crumbs are formed.
  • Strain the mixture and cover it, keep aside for 10 mins.
  • After 10 mins add chopped chilies and onions to the flour.
  • Boil water in any small mouth container and spread muslin cloth over the mouth.
  • Now make dip in the middle of the cloth and fill the dip with the prepared rice powder.
  • Cover the powder with the cloth and place a lid over the cloth. And keep steaming for about 7-8 mins.
  • Open the lid and cloth and break an egg in the powder cake. Cover it again and continue steaming till done.
  • Carefully take off from heat and uncover the cake on the plate.
  • Turn it upside down. Serve hot.
